Lorna--thanks again for the wonderful job Maiden Voyage did at the YC Event last week. The attendance was much better than last year (thanks for suggesting the Arboretum!) and I've heard nothing but praise for the music and food! In truth, I do think your music gets better all the time! Have you ever thought about a CD with the jazz standards on it? Thanks again for all of your help! Buddy

I have played "Fat Cat's Tattoos" < my personal fav> over two dozen times on my show as well as "Fool in Love" and "I Feel Good With the Blues" since I received the disc back in 2000. I have fielded many calls and given out your name and album title to each of the callers. I am happy to play such a good record. In fact, I have just about worn this disc out and if you could see your way to replace it, I would be most appreciative.

My name is Pablo from Punta Alta, Argentina. I have a show on the radio about Blues, Soul, Gospel,Jazz and Funk the name is Crossroads, for over 10 years I´d played popular and unknown artists, in the last ones I had found very good ones. Thanks to Internet I had access to blues society, something that before was very difficult to do, from that point I begin to communicate to that artist to know how can I access to the material that they created. I'm an operator and DJ on the show where we spread the material, doing comments and reading biographies. The material is also published on a digital newsletter in English and Spanish were we do the analysis of it.
I'm sending this to you because I'm still looking for new unknown artist, with good music, and all the comments,cd’s,demos and other information that complement the theme. I´ll appreciate if you have anything of that and you could send me some or directions to find it.
Thank you for your time,

Hi, Lorna, I'm Doyle Brink's grandson, my dad is Wesley. He's Arnold's brother. Aunt Rachel sent a picture of Doyle's award to the house and saw your write ups in Groove and found your web site, thought I'd write a quick one. I've been looking for Doyle's legacy of music for years on the net, and then it hits me right in the face. All I ever had was a poster of the Circle R with Doyle on the drums with the Texas Swingsters. I guess music really is in the genes. I've been playing drums for 35 years with the same style that Doyle had and didn't know why. My brother Pat has been at Berklee Music School in Boston for several years, and has several CD's in jazz and blues and classical piano, and plays trumpet. He's finishing up a film-scoring degree there. Your songs sound like coming home. They're great. I played for a long time, and then quit for the past 15 years. I only jam a few times a year with a guitar player that strangely enough, sounds alot like K Frazier and Stevie Ray in one. Give me a holler, long lost cousin. P.S. Gil Brink gave me my first drum lesson in 1972.

Hi Lorna and Rex, Somehow my name got on the Poundcat mailing list, so I guess I'm happy about that, but it will take me a rountrip on the Big Bird to come out to Texas to hear you all play. Recently I've been looking for love in all the wrong places and trying to promote The Next Stop Delta Blues Band, which is Walter Lewis', who started the band, on National Steel guitar and his friend Dave Anastasia on electric and acoustic bass. Joined by myself on harp, we just recently made a home-brewed recording. A friendly studio engineer is re-mastering this little puppy. I'd love to hear you guys play that and sit in too. But you need a sound byte first. You know we are, all of us(this band of musicians) "Livin' the Blues",(read financially not happy) people who've earned their grey-hairs, so can you blame us for trying to lay claim to a degree of fame? Doin' my share to keep the Blues alive. Hope to hear you, and from you soon. Tommy Volcano P.S. Your web-site is easy on the eyes.

WOW...who needs any kind of "upper" when you listen to Lorna sing. She gives you a great "rush". It's hard to keep from dancing and singing along when I listen to her CD. She is full of energy...and watching her perform live is even more exciting. She is an excellent performer with an awesome sound to back every second of it!
Sounds like you've really started something down there in Texas!!! Just hope I get the time to hear you live when I come over next year? meanwhile......we've got your link under 'artists' on www.bluesconnections.com
love those cats!!!
Thanks for the shout. Enjoyed visiting your feline themed website. We've got a large cat around the Blues Shack that looked like Poundcat when he was a little kitty. We love Texas specially the hill country. I've spent a little time in Austin and Mrs. Jack is from the Corpus/San Antonio area. I wanted to see what those rave reviews were about. Anyway good luck and best wishes on your CD and career. Keep bringin' those live Blues to the people of your fair state.
